Local Food Buyer Seller Meet-Up
Local food is gaining momentum on our plates and in our economy. When you see squash grown in Clatsop County on the menu of your favorite restaurant, it’s the result of a relationship between a local farmer and chef. The growth of a local food market depends on the connections between the people who farm, fish, forage or process food -- and the people who buy local food for their business or establishment.
North Coast Food Web’s annual event “Local Food Buyer Seller Meet-Up” is a space for these connections to form. Formerly known as “Farmer Chef Connection”, this year the event expands to include food buyers such as markets, schools and hospitals, in addition to restaurants.
We will have a meet & greet with brunch, a guided discussion of local food system updates and projects -- and plenty of time for networking. Our discussion covers challenges, successes and resources needed to support the local food system. Whether you’ve just started thinking about buying or selling local food, or you’ve been in the game for years, we invite you to join us!
If you would like to support NCFW in hosting this event, please consider making a donation or contacting us to get involved.
