"Self-Preservation in Difficult Circumstances" seminar
The Lower Columbia Human Resources Management Association proudly presents our September Seminar “Self-Preservation in Difficult Circumstances”, by the sensational Dr. Red Carritte!
“Human resource jobs are extremely stressful. No one would argue that. HR professionals deal with difficult employees, company rules enforcement, frustrated managers, confidential and sensitive people issues, and potential lawsuits. They may also handle vending machines, company picnics, employee safety gear, and employee parking spaces!”
“It’s important to take care of ourselves and few of us know how to do it. We sacrifice for our jobs and we coach others, but don't have much time or energy left for ourselves. This presentation speaks to our stress and difficulties as Human Resource Professionals. We will discuss how to recognize and deal with our special stressors; how to understand and manage unavoidable daily stress; and finally, how to avoid burnout, nervous breakdowns, joining the circus, or running screaming from the building. Dr. Carritte will present 10 ideas to help enhance your journey.”
Dr. Red Carritte is a business psychologist who first worked as a top human resources executive (Baskin Robbins, Sweetheart Cup, MetroMedia Companies) and then returned to school to finish her doctorate. For the past 15 years she has been coaching executives at companies around the country to identify organizational development needs and inspire them towards excellence. She has written 4 business books, 1 children's book, and is drawing and teaching zentangle art to children and adults. She plays autoharp and knits, adores her 10 grandchildren, her daughter and daughters in law, and lives with her Maltipoo, Blossom, in Astoria, Oregon.
