Columbian Theater Voodoo Room Presents A Special Matinee Screening of Wandering Reel Traveling Film Festival SHORTS PROGRAM A: YOU. ME. WE. Description: What tears us apart? What brings us together? Film Lineup: "Mare Nostrum" On a Mediterranean shore, a Syrian father makes a decision that puts his daughter's life at risk. Narrative ~ 13 minutes "What Tears Us Apart" In a luxurious Parisian apartment, after a long separation, an encounter. Narrative ~ 16 minutes "Artalde" A shepherd, lost in the city, searches for his flock. Narrative ~ 8 minutes "White Face" The story of New York actor Charles Rodgers, a man who hates his Black skin and all the hardship that comes with it. Feeling trapped by his race, Charles believes he has found the solution to his problems - change his appearance to embody "Whiteness." Narrative ~ 21 minutes "Light Sight" An imprisoned character in a room is attracted to a hanging light and tries to catch it. But the room itself becomes an obstacle on his way. Animation ~ 7 minutes "The Sugaring Off" Bernard is an austere man whose sold occupation is to care for his beloved Line, who is very ill. Their son organizes a sugaring off party that forces Bernard to reconnect with the exhilaration of spring. Narrative ~ 15 minutes Screening followed by a Q&A discussion with festival director, Michael Harrington. Tickets: $5 Wandering Reel is a traveling short film festival with a focus on bringing meaningful films to communities with limited or no access to compassionate, thought-provoking cinema. WRTFF strives to engage its audience in deeper conversation about the role of cinema, and how films can relate to community, conscious living, and contribute to making the world a stronger and more unified place.
