DESCRIPTION:Advanced Leave Laws\n\n\n\nPrerequisite: Leave Law Basics Seminar\n\n\n\nEmployers with 25 or more employees in Oregon are required to comply with the provisions of the Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA). If your company has 50 or more employees in the United States\, the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) also applies. There are significant differences between OFLA and FMLA\, and Oregon employers must understand these differences in order to effectively and lawfully administer their leave program.\n\n\n\nThis session covers complex leave laws including the Oregon Family Leave Act\, federal Family and Medical Leave Act\, Oregon Military Family Leave Act\, Leave for Victims of Domestic Violence\, Harassment\, Sexual Assault or Stalking are all covered in depth\, including the impact of injured worker and disability laws. In addition\, complex leaving tracking scenarios will be covered.\n\n\n\nSpecific topics will include:\n\n Other Protected Leaves\n Review of Basic OFLA/FMLA\n The ADA and ADAAA\n The Oregon Disability Law\n What is a "Disability" Under the Federal and State Laws?\n What is the Requirement to Make "Reasonable Accommodation"?\n Injured Worker Laws\n Reinstatement/Reemployment\n Light Duty\n Loss of Rights\n Oregon Military Family Leave Act\n Leave for Victims of Domestic Violence\, Harassment\, Sexual Assault or Stalking\n\nThe seminar is targeted toward human resources personnel\, business owners\, managers\, supervisors\, and anyone who is responsible for administering a company leave program.\n\n\n\nIn an effort provide the most useful materials to you with a minimum of paper waste\, Technical Assistance will forward via email copies of the PowerPoint presentation and any supplemental or reference materials as a PDF two days prior your training event. A hard copy of the presentation will also be available on the day of the event in a "three up" format. The "three up" format provides three slides and space for notes on each page\, but may not be as easy to read as the electronic PDF.\n\n\n\nNote: Room temperature is uncontrollable. Please dress in layers to accommodate.
