About Us

Clatsop Cruise Hosts is a non profit organization that welcomes cruise ship passengers to Astoria, Oregon. We are a group of volunteers who enjoy meeting people from everywhere and try to enhance their one day visit to our area. So many of our visitors enjoy the history of the area and realize there is so much to see and do and thus plan return trips. Each season we encourage our volunteers to explore our city and we provide them with an opportunity to learn what is new downtown and what the passengers will enjoy on some of their local excursions. We also try to have up-to-date information on such things as where the restrooms are downtown, where there is wi-fi access, where the pharmacy is and so many more details. The positive and friendly welcome that passengers get not only from the Cruise Hosts, but from the merchants has given us a great reputation. So much so that people get off the ships in the pouring rain just to take a look around.
