Dan Cox - Licensed Structural Integration Massage Therapist
What IS Structural Integration Bodywork?
Unlike massage therapy, which concentrates on working the body's muscles, structural integration focuses on therapeutically working the body's fascia, which is the connective tissue that surrounds your bones, organs, and muscles, and gives your muscles their shape....for better or for worse. With life taking a constant toll on our fascia through the constant rigors of gravity, injuries, and repetitive movement (to all of you who spend too much time hunched over your laptops), over time, our fascia shortens and tightens, causing misalignments which lead to us experiencing pain. The Strutural Integrationist's job consists of assessing your body's alignment, movement, and restrictions, and then physically working your fascia, lenthening or shortening the tissues as necessary, in order to help you put your body back into balance.
