DESCRIPTION:Join Clatsop Community College and Fort George Brewery for January's Ales & Ideas Lecture on Thursday\, Jan. 5th\, 2023 at 7 p.m. featuring CCC instructor Chris Dewey presenting on Shipwreck Archeology: The Beeswax Wreck\, the Search Continues.\n\n\n\nChris Dewey will discuss the story of the Manila galleon trade\, the recovery of timbers and other artifacts that are likely from a Spanish galleon on the Oregon Coast\, and the continuing search for the remainder of the shipwreck.\n\n\n\nChris Dewey\, a retired Naval Officer and the founder of the Maritime Archaeological Society\, is the Shipwreck Archaeology instructor at Clatsop Community College. He holds a master's degree in maritime archaeology from the University of West Florida and a master's degree in business management from Troy University. He is listed on the Register of Professional Archaeologists and is a Secretary of the Interior and Oregon State qualified archaeologist. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6 p.m.\, with food\, ales\, and other beverages available\; no purchase necessary. Minors are welcome at this FREE event.
