DESCRIPTION:Astoria's Grace Episcopal Church will host a photography show by a Belgian artist\, Virginie Trubiano\, for the benefit of the Regional Food Bank.\n\n\n\nThis photography show\, is all about PARIS\, the city of light - "La ville des lumi res" - with a focus on its masterpieces of religious works.\n\n"PARIS: Glory to God! An Expression of Christianity through the Centuries".\n\n\n\nVirginie Trubiano is currently studying photography as an international student at Marylhurst University in Portland - a liberal arts Catholic school. She has had numerous previous photography shows in London(UK)\, Portland(USA)\, Charleroi(Belgium) and an upcoming show in Hillsboro\, OR.\n\n\n\n"Oh\, Paris .As an artist\, I liked the mystery hidden within the shapes and lines of this revered old city\, reminiscent of its glorious past\, mixed with the daily life of a vibrant present. I found myself trying to capture its architecture: the unusual\, the unexpected\, its spirit  - whether through a different angle\, different lighting\, different composition \n\n\n\nMy goal is to invite and challenge the viewers to look deeper into my photos and find an underlining significance to some familiar places   some of the most photographed and well-known religious edifices of the world  To evoke viewers' curiosity and entertain them visually\, despite photographing normal and everyday buildings\, objects and people."\n\n\n\nThe artwork is offered for sale and all of the proceeds will be donated by Grace Episcopal to the local Food Bank. A local business\, Franklin Vista Properties\, will match 20% of the proceeds.\n\n\n\nDuring the artist reception\, coffee and pastries will be served. Come\, have a hot cup of coffee with an young artist\, take a photographic detour in Paris and help feed some less fortunate than us. (Donations will also be accepted.)
