SUMMARY:Astoria Senior Center Fort Clatsop Tour and Picnic
DESCRIPTION:ACTIVITY:  (1)Ranger Presentation\, (2)Picnic Lunch\, (3)Visitor Center\,\n\n(4)GUIDED TOUR of Fort Clatsop\, (5)Musket Firing and one film OR two\n\nfilms.\n\n \n\nTRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS:  Meet at the Senior Center at 10:45am.\n\nPLEASE say which way you hope to travel when you RSVP.\n\nMOBILITY:  The parking lot is flat and paved.  Members can be dropped\n\noff in front of the Visitor Center.  The 100 yard path to Fort Clatsop\n\nand Presentation areas is level and covered with chipped wood.  The\n\nVisitor Center has 2 motorized scooters and 2 wheelchairs that are\n\nfirst come\, but we would let them know ahead of time if they are\n\nneeded.\n\n \n\nINFORMATION:  This will be a wonderful experience at Fort Clatsop!  We\n\nwill be met by a ranger at 11:15am who will escort us to the\n\nPresentation Area and provide information along the way.  We will\n\nattend the 11:30 Ranger Presentation with multiple possible topics\n\n(Birds of Discovery\, How Elk helped the Corps\, Flora of the Fort\,\n\nMuskets and other Survival Tools\, Woodworking\, Mapping the Louisiana\n\nPurchase\, etc.). Our group will then have a picnic lunch (bring your\n\nown lunch) and walk through the Visitor Center.  We will be met by the\n\nRanger at 1pm who will give us a Guided Tour of Fort Clatsop.\n\nFinally\, we will attend the Musket Firing at 1:30.  This can only\n\noccur if the specialist is present and there is no fire warning.  If\n\nthis does happen we will then watch the "Clatsop Winter Story".
