DESCRIPTION:The Warrenton Community Library is hosting author Jim Hallaux on Saturday\, April 13 at 4 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Warrenton Community Library and is free to attend. Jim will share more about his writing process\, read excerpts from his works and answer audience questions. Born and raised in Astoria\, Oregon\, author Jim Hallaux lives there with his wife\, Robbie Mattson\, and their dog\, Oak. He has written three books. WIND WITHOUT RAIN is a coming-of-age story set in Astoria in 1968. This book is co-authored with Calvin Cahail. The setting\, the late '60s\, was a turbulent time around the country. A newscaster described the time as 'Hell\, violence and high water.' Even a small town like Astoria felt the restless\, often violent\, mood of America. His second book is ASTORIA STEAK DELUXE! A present-day mystery set in a fictional Astoria high-end steak house. If you like murder mysteries and restaurants\, this book is for you. You will learn a lot about restaurants and Astoria   and that's before the murders start! COLUMBIA 1942 is his 3rd book\, set in Astoria and Naselle during WWII. The story begins with the shelling of the Northwest coast by a Japanese submarine. The submarine fired shells from just North of Seaside to the mouth of the Columbia River. The retelling of this attack is accurate\, but the rest of the book is historical fiction.\n\n\n\n4-6pm
