He attended the California Maritime Academy and earned a B.S. in Nautical Industrial Technology. Dan is a member of the Lower Columbia River Harbor Safety Committee\, Pacific Northwest Waterways Association\, American Pilots Association\, and the Council of American Master Mariners.
