Astoria Social Justice Book Club
The Astoria Social Justice Book Club meets the first Tuesday of each month, at 6 pm, at the Commodore Hotel Lobby (258 14th Street, Astoria). Our discussions are always lively and informative. Even if you haven’t finished, or even started the book to be discussed, you are welcome to come and listen, join in, meet new people, connect with friends.
This summer we have been reading "Song in a Weary Throat" by Pauli Murray. For September, we will cover the last chapters - Chapter 25 to the end.
PLEASE BRING YOUR IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS FOR BOOKS TO READ TO THE SEPTEMBER MEETING. After the book discussion we will start the process of selecting books for the 2024-2025 school year.
For more information or questions about the Astoria Social Justice Book Club, please feel free to contact: Lowell Benner - lbgrooveswitch@gmail.com or Karen Haines - khaines219@gmail.com
This event is sponsored by Peace First Lutheran Church, however all faiths and beliefs are welcome at this group.
