Artistic worlds to collide at The Ten Fifteen Theater
Bartow, an original play from Portland based playwright, Greg Berman, will open for a three-performance engagement at Ten Fifteen Productions beginning October 6th. This staged reading is sponsored in part by a grant from the Clatsop County Cultural Coalition, and will feature collaboration with Astoria Visual Arts, as well as a post show discussion on October 7th with the playwright and Charles Froelick of the Froelick Gallery in Portland.
About the Show: Paralyzed after a major stroke, Oregonian and Contemporary artist, Rick Bartow and a young med student attempt their own form of therapy by entering Bartow’s art as expressions of prior traumas, lost Indigenous heritage, abstract animal paintings, sculptures, masks, and lost songs. This is a theatrical exploration of recovery adapted from Rick Bartow’s retrospective and accompanying book Things You Know But Cannot Explain.
