BOLI update: New laws and workplace protections - what employers need to know
What should employers know when a leave event qualifies for protection under Oregon Paid Leave, OFLA and FMLA? When can an employer require – or not require – a valid driver’s license on a job application? What obligations do employers have to inform employees when a federal audit is imminent? Join BOLI learning and development specialist Charlie Burr for a discussion based on recent employment law updates, including emerging enforcement trends and new laws affecting Oregon workplaces. This interactive session will help your organization manage risk and avoid potential BOLI complaints. Charlie Burr works as a learning and development specialist for the agency’s Employer Assistance Program, where he helps businesses large and small navigate frequently complex workplace requirements. Previously, Burr served as BOLI’s public information officer for five years, providing communications support for the agency’s legislative agenda and enforcement initiatives. Burr lives in northeast Portland with his wife Libby, daughters Marigny and Shelby, and dog Diamond.
