The evening centers on Mozart’s Serenade No. 10 in B-flat major, K. 361 — the iconic Gran Partita. One of the most celebrated works ever written for wind ensemble, the Gran Partita unfolds across seven expansive movements. Scored for an extraordinary ensemble of 13 instruments—featuring pairs of oboes, clarinets, basset horns, bassoons, four horns, and double bass—this expansive and richly textured work is celebrated as one of the greatest achievements in wind chamber music.
