This talk will address the major tectonic forces responsible for shaping the Oregon coastline. Coastal geomorphology will be explored by looking at wave and beach dynamics and the role of beach stabilization efforts. The talk will conclude with an overview of the Columbia River Estuary focusing on the impact of logging, flood plain removal, and upriver dams.
