Film Making: Beyond the Big Screen - OFM
The Oregon Film Museum’s TNT (Thursday Night Talks) lecture series continues April 20th with Film Making: Beyond the Big Screen, a presentation by independent filmmakers, directors, cinematographers, and editors Sue Arbuthnot and her partner Richard Wilhelm will be on hand to discuss the filmmaking process, to talk about their documentary Dryland, and the cultivating of rural resilience. They will also share clips from their documentary-in-progress, Refuge. This documentary of the 2016 armed takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge near Burns, Oregon is a cinematic exploration of how the myth of the West both serves and harms us, and how a grassroots counter-movement seeks the “radical center” of hope for a resilient natural and human ecosystem.
The Oregon Film Museum sponsored TNT lecture series is a free event at Fort George Brewery’s Lovell Showroom on the third Thursday of each month. Doors open at 6:00 pm, with lectures beginning at 7:00 pm. Seasonal beers on tap, food and other beverages are available for purchase. Minors are welcome with an accompanying adult.
