Free Future Filmmaker Workshop
For more than a decade, Portland nonprofit Outside the Frame has empowered youth to share their stories through film, producing hundreds of impactful video projects. Outside the Frame is partnering with the Oregon Film Museum to present a Future Filmmakers Workshop—a free, one-day filmmaker workshop for middle and high schoolers on Saturday, November 15, 10:00 AM–1:00 PM. The workshop will begin at the Heritage Museum, 1618 Exchange Street, Astoria.
Young filmmakers will use the Oregon Film Museum as a creative set to develop short films guided by Outside the Frame mentors, including Melo Charistil, recipient of OFM’s 2025 Selig Award. Participants will explore areas of filmmaking:
-
Equipment Orientation – Camera and audio
-
Narrative Structure – Crafting compelling stories for the screen.
-
