Japanese Incense Workshop
LISTEN TO THE FRAGRANCE: Traditional Japanese Incense Appreciation
Awaken your senses with delicious aromas and ancient traditions during this special workshop featuring traditional Japanese incense appreciation. Learn about the history of Japanese incense, observe how the censer is prepared with ash and a live coal, and how the splinter of jinkoh wood is gently warmed to release its precious aroma. Practice the technique for handling the censer as we enjoy three different rounds of incense, each with a unique profile. As we “listen to the incense”, we will have opportunities for reflection and journaling. This session will leave you feeling centered and inspired to make incense a vital part of your life!
