November TNT: Richard Neuberger: Oregon Politics
Join us for TNT (Thursday Night Talks) on November 20 as journalist and publisher Stephen Forrester discusses his new biography, Richard Neuberger: Oregon Politics and the Making of a US Senator.
The book explores Neuberger’s journey from groundbreaking journalist to Oregon’s first Democratic U.S. Senator in forty years. His legacy includes conservation leadership, a prolific writing career, and a political partnership with his wife, Maurine, who succeeded him in the Senate after his death in 1960.
Forrester will share insights into Neuberger’s advocacy, his reporting on Nazi Germany, and his influence on Oregon politics and figures like Governor Tom McCall.
The event is free and held at Fort George Brewery’s Lovell Showroom (14th & Duane, Astoria). Doors open at 6:00 p.m.; talk begins at 7:00 p.m. Food and beverages available. Minors welcome with an adult.
