Historian and author William L. Lang presents, The Country for Me: Joel Palmer and the Shaping of Oregon, at the Clatsop County Historical Society’s TNT program on Thursday, Nov. 19th, at the Fort George Brewery in Astoria.
Lang spent a decade researching the life of Joel Palmer, his great-great-great-grandfather. Drawing from his book, Lang will focus on the treaty-making process in Oregon, including negotiations with Native nations of the Lower Columbia River and the circumstances surrounding treaties that failed to receive Senate ratification.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the presentation begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
