About the event Join us for a meaningful community gathering at Sunset Beach as we unveil a new Marine Debris Display created in partnership with marine debris artist Elizabeth Roberts, Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Chinook Indian Nation, and Oregon Shores.
June 6th, 2025 from 2:00pm-4:30pm at Sunset Beach State Park at the Fort to Sea Trailhead parking lot
This special event honors the deep connection between coastal ecosystems, marine life, and the cultural and ecological importance of salmon runs in the Pacific Northwest. The display highlights the growing impacts of marine debris on our ocean and shorelines, while also celebrating the resilience of these environments and the communities working to protect them.
Event Schedule and Details: At 2pm, please join us for the formal program with a welcome and remarks from project partners and the official unveiling of the Marine Debris Display. Then from 2:30 to 4:30 pm, guests are invited to stay for a relaxed social hour to connect with community members, partner organizations, and fellow coastal stewards. All attendees will be entered in a free raffle to win an annual National Parks Pass and enjoy locally-sourced appetizers and refreshments. The event is open to the public and welcomes all. We hope you’ll join us in recognizing the importance of caring for our coast and the role each of us can play in keeping it clean and vibrant for generations to come.
