Suomi Hall Restoration Project Banquet and Auction
Friends of Suomi Hall will hold a banquet and auction to raise funds to stabilize and restore the 142-year-old Suomi Hall so it can continue to be used as lodge and community event space. The banquet will start at 5 PM on Saturday, March 28, at the Loft at the Red Building on Basin Street in Astoria. The Bridgewater Bistro will cater the dinner and the public is welcome. 5 PM: Check-in, charcuterie, bar open, silent auction
6 PM: Dinner catered by Bridgewater Bistro
Finnish Karjalan Paisti meat stew, Salmon in Lemon Dill Sauce, Chickpea Cakes (gluten free, vegetarian)
Sides include mixed green salad, beet salad, pickled herring, marinated cucumbers, rye rolls, pulla (cardamon bread), whipped butter.
Dessert is a mixed berry cobbler.
6:45 PM: Live auction starts.
8:30 PM: Bar closes
9 PM: Event ends.
Cost: $150 includes two beverage tickets for beer, wine, coffee, tea, or lemonade or a Lonkero cocktail (Finnish Long Drink made with grapefruit juice and gin)
