The Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to co-sponsor the Lorna Baxter Jazz Septet to celebrate April as Jazz Appreciation Month
Sunday, April 14th, 2024 at 3:00pm at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts, located on the corner of 16th and Franklin (588 16th Street) in Astoria Oregon. This FREE concert will be a celebration of some of the best-loved jazz standards as well as some “new-to-you” works performed by Lorna Baxter and her Septet of phenomenal musicians. The Charlene Larsen Center is co-sponsoring Ms. Baxter and the Septet’s appearance along with the Music Performance Trust Fund, a non-profit dedicated to bringing free, live, professional music programs to communities. Lorna Baxter has been hailed as a versatile artist singing “anything from Nina Simone to Billie Holiday to Miles Davis and Gil Scott Herron” “She’s a happy, bubbly person, fun to be around, and she’s an excellent singer, performer, and entertainer.” - Bobby Selover and Cascade Blues Association
