Workforce Councils November 14, 2023, 9:30 A.M. meets twice per year in March & November
Workforce Council Responsibilities
1. Work closely with all applicable local boards and review labor market information to determine and provide recommendations to the Regional Office regarding the center’s career technical training offerings, including identification of emerging occupations suitable for training; and will
2. Review all relevant labor market information, including related information in the State Plan or Local plan, to:
(a) Recommend in-demand industry sectors or occupations in the area where the center operates;
(b) Determine employment opportunities in the areas in which students intend to seek employment;
(c) Determine the skills and education necessary to obtain the identified employment; and
(d) Recommend to the Secretary the type of career and technical training that should be implemented at the center to enable students to obtain the employment opportunities identified.
3. Meet at least once every six months to reevaluate the labor market information and other relevant information, to determine and recommend to the center director the any necessary changes in the career technical training provided at the center.
g. The responsibilities outlined above should be carried out for Job Corps centers that are not yet operating at least 3 months prior to the date on which the center -accepts its first enrollee.
(e) and all levels of elected officials.
