Tongue Point Job Corps Workforce Council Employer Roundtable
We have a shared interest in building our local workforce with skilled and ready-to-work employees. I am reaching out to invite you to an employer roundtable event to discuss how Job Corps and organizations like yours can work together to meet the needs of our local workforce. Job Corps is committed to preparing the next generation of skilled workers, and through collaboration with employers and workforce development leaders, we can make sure our training programs are aligned with your industry standards. This invitation to the Tongue Point Job Corps Center, Center Workforce Council Employer Roundtable we’re hosting on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. In case you are unfamiliar with Job Corps, it is a federally funded career and education training program whose mission is to educate and train highly motivated young people for successful careers in the nation’s fastest-growing industries. ??? In addition to being able to share your thoughts and feedback directly with our staff, you’ll have the opportunity to hear more about partnering with Job Corps from [Invited Speaker/Speakers] and to discuss workforce needs with other local employers and workforce development partners. I welcome you or another representative from your organization to join us for this special event. The Tongue Point Job Corps Center offers training in a variety of industries, including Center’s Training Areas: Building Construction Technology (BCT = HVAC, Plumbing, CA, PA, EL, Landscaping, Solar), Carpentry (CA), Cement Mason (CE), Certified Medical Assisting (CMA), Computer Service Technician (CST), Dental Assisting (DA), Electrical (EL), Glazing (GL), Painting (PA), Plastering (PL), Seamanship (SE) and Welding (WE). Job Corps is looking to partner with industry leaders who need skilled workers ready to work hard and learn on the job. We have a talented pipeline of future employees. Melissa Padgett, Assessment Evaluation Form: While we value our community partners we ask that the Assessment Evaluation form to be completed only by our professional trade and industry partners, union representatives and employment professionals. 4. Center Director, Kim Zufelt, of Tongue Point Job Corps Center (TPJCC), Center Workforce Council (CWC) -- Why/What/How it works, industry placements, starting wages, OBS, how TPJCC is evaluated by Department of Labor (DOL), comprehensive program. 5. Maren Berg-Rooper, Outreach & Admissions, Eligibility vs Suitability for admissions, and Career Transition Services and Employability. 6.
