Trivia Night!

How well do you know Clatsop County History? To find out, bring a team of up to six people to Trivia Night at Breakside Brewery, 1355 Exchange St, Astoria, on Wednesday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m.
Chelsea Rose of the Oregon Chinese Diaspora Project and Zachary Stocks of Oregon Black Pioneers will host the Clatsop County history-themed challenge, featuring categories in canning, fishing, timber, nature, culture, and the arts.
Chelsea Rose is the director of the Southern Oregon University Laboratory of Anthropology and a historical archaeologist who focuses on the settlement and development of the American West. Chelsea regularly collaborates with the media, students, and community volunteers to promote archaeological awareness and encourage historical stewardship. She has been featured in books and magazines promoting STEM education and currently serves on the boards of the Oregon Historical Quarterly and the Southern Oregon Historical Society. Chelsea is a Principal Investigator with the award-winning Oregon Chinese Diaspora Project, was a guest co-editor of the Oregon Historical Quarterly issue dedicated to the Chinese diaspora, and co-edited Chinese Diaspora Archaeology in North America, available from the University Press of Florida.
Zachary Stocks is a public historian and the Executive Director of the Oregon Black Pioneers. Zachary previously served as Program Director of Historical Seaport and Visitor Services Manager of Northwest African American Museum. He is a former intern at Colonial Williamsburg and the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, as well as a former seasonal Park Ranger at Lewis and Clark National Historical Park. He holds a BA in History from the College of William & Mary with a certificate in Public History from the National Institute for American History and Democracy, and an MA in Museology from the University of Washington.

Clatsop County Historical Society is a privately funded, independent, 501(C)(3) not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of Clatsop County, Oregon, and the surrounding area. The Society operates the Liisa Penner Research Center and Archives, the Flavel House Museum, the Heritage Museum, the Oregon Film Museum, and the Uppertown Firefighters Museum.
