What's in a name? Naming a Boat
Have you ever read the name of a boat that made you laugh from cleverness, groan in embarrassment, or ponder in confusion? Why do we name the name vessels the way we do? Join educators at the Columbia River Maritime Museum to discover the cultural and historical influences that shape our maritime laws, traditions, and superstitions when it comes to naming a water-going vessel. Talk runs 20 minutes in the Ford Room. Seating for 24 is first-come, first-serve.
